About Holly Pots Stoneware

Greetings!

My name is Holly and I live in Nashville, Indiana, the heart of beautiful Brown County.   I create pottery in my home studio in the woods where I live with my husband, father, in-laws, 2 dogs, 3 cats, and lots of other critters. I still have one of my kids living around the area, which I love. My oldest is currently working on her second Master's degree in Austin, TX, my middle child is an engineering technician living near us, and my youngest is a project manager in Madison, WI. I hope at some point one of them will be as passionate about pottery as I am!

As for me - I have always been interested in pottery and started making it again several years ago. I love everything about the process (even all the research and testing!). I find it relaxing and that it fulfills my need to be creative like no other activity. I currently make pottery full time and have my pots in a several downtown Nashville stores and other locations in Southern IN. My NEW studio is now ready and I am working out of it! We are so happy to be in our new space. I can be found throwing, trimming, and glazing in my studio every day of the week.. Making a pot is actually a fairly lengthy process when you factor in design work, drying time, kiln firing schedule, any applicable research, and required testing. Right now, if you have a custom order you've placed, it will likely be 2-4 months before it is complete.

Every Holly Pot is handmade by me and no two are exactly alike. When you purchase a Holly Pot, you have a unique creation that my two hands took from a mound of clay to a finished product. Each is a one of a kind piece. At Holly Pots, we don't make "matching" pieces, we coordinated pieces.

In 2020 we invested in a slab roller and are making several more products using this tool (so much fun!). We have started making ornaments, magnets, coasters, hand-built tumblers/cups, vases and more! It is so wonderful to have the slab roller available to make all of these.

I receive a lot of inquiries from people who would like to know more about pottery and are interested in learning to throw or want to make ornaments or other hand built pieces. We are now (finally!) in our new studio!!!! So many things slowed our progress getting into it - material availability and cost during COVID, labor during COVID, and even the weather. We are thrilled to be in the new studio and will posting information about classes in the next 2 weeks. We can't wait to have you visit!

I post pictures of my pottery and videos of my process on Facebook (hollypots47448) and Instagram (HollyPots.Stoneware).

Thank you! ~ Holly
